PreGrade by Heavy Collectables
Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 November 2026
PreGrade is made by Heavy Collectables. This policy explains what PreGrade does with information, which is very little: PreGrade runs entirely on your device and sends nothing to us. By using PreGrade you agree to the handling of information described here. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), whether or not the law requires us to.
What PreGrade collects
Nothing. PreGrade has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no server of its own. We do not receive your photos, your measurements, your saved cards, your settings or anything about your use of the app.
Camera and photos
PreGrade asks for camera permission so you can photograph cards inside the app. Photos are processed on your device to find and measure the card, and to read the card’s name and number so the app can suggest them when you save it. They are kept only in the app’s own storage on your device, and only for as long as the card is open or saved. In the Android app, a photo taken with your phone’s camera app for PreGrade is copied into PreGrade and then deleted from where the camera app put it. Photos you pick from your gallery stay in your gallery.
What is stored on your device
Saved cards (the estimates and measurements, pictures of the front and back of up to about 2000 pixels, any close-ups you kept of up to about 1400 pixels, the card name and your notes), your settings (such as the camera choice and the damage-marker style), and a record that you have accepted the Terms of Use. This is stored in the app’s private storage on your device and is not included in Android’s automatic backups. Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes it.
Sharing and exporting
When you tap Share, or export a backup or CSV, PreGrade builds the file on your device. In the Android app it goes to your phone’s share sheet, where you choose where it goes, such as another app or cloud storage; in a browser it is downloaded. What happens to those files afterwards is up to you and the services you send them to.
Information you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you write. We use it to reply and to improve PreGrade, keep it for as long as we need to deal with your query and for our records, and don’t sell it or share it with anyone except as the law requires.
Links to other websites
PreGrade and the Heavy Collectables website may link to other websites, such as app stores. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them. The Heavy Collectables website is hosted by a web hosting service that may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, under its own policy; we do not use them to identify anyone.
App stores and platforms
If you install PreGrade from an app store, the store and your device’s operating system may collect information about the download and the app’s use under their own policies. PreGrade itself does not.
Overseas
We do not send any information overseas, because we do not receive any. App stores and your device’s operating system may handle information outside Australia under their own policies.
Security
Because everything stays on your device, its security depends on your device: its lock screen, its backups and who can use it. We cannot protect, recover or delete information on your device or in files you have shared or exported.
Children
PreGrade is for adults. If you are under 18, use PreGrade only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. PreGrade collects no information about anyone.
What we may collect in future
We may add features that need to collect information, for example crash reports, anonymous usage statistics, an optional account, cloud backup or purchases. If we do, we will collect only what the feature needs, say so in this policy first, and PreGrade will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, and complain to us if you think we have mishandled it. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). Today the only information we could hold about anyone is correspondence they have sent us.
Changes to this policy
We may change this policy at any time. When we do, PreGrade will ask you to accept the new version before you continue, and the website will show the new date at the top.
